Jasmine Joshua

Jasmine Joshua (they/them) is a Seattle-based writer, producer, actor, and director. Jasmine graduated magna cum laude from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Creative Writing and a minor in Jewish Studies. They also studied with the Larry Moss Studio and the Groundlings. Before moving to Seattle, Jasmine was a theatrical publicist in the Bay Area, managing clients from LORT theatres and Broadway tours to opera, ballet, and a monster truck rally. Directing credits: Book-It Repertory Theatre; Intiman; Reboot Theatre; Cafe Nordo; assistant director at 5th Avenue Theatre; associate director at Village Theatre. On stage: 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Public Theatre, Book-it, Intiman. Jasmine is also the Artistic Director of Reboot Theatre Company, a queer and trans-focused company.

Their nonbinary musical HERE AND THEIR (Story by Jasmine Joshua and Alexei Cifrese, Book by Jasmine Joshua, Music and Lyrics by Heather Ragusa) was originally commissioned by The 5th Avenue Theatre as a part of their First Draft program. It received developmental workshops at Seattle Repertory Theatre in February 2021 and June 2022 with support from NAMT. Jasmine and Heather further developed the show at the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat in August 2022.
Jasmine wrote and performed a solo track in the world premiere musical AND SO THAT HAPPENED for the 5th Avenue Theatre mainstage in May 2022. Jasmine’s autobiographical solo show BREADCRUMBS in collaboration with Eddie DeHais premiered at Seattle’s ACT Theatre’s Solo Fest in 2020 and was also included in Ars Nova’s ANTFest in 2021. Their sci-fi farce about a mix-up at the DMV (Department of Monster Verification) received a world premiere at Annex Theatre in Seattle in 2020.
