DJ Salisbury (Director/Choreographer) has set shows in theaters across the USA from Paper Mill Playhouse in NJ, Dallas Summer Musicals, TOTS-Atlanta, Kansas City Starlight, Sacramento’s California Musical Theatre, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, Riverside Theatre-Vero Beach, Orlando Shakespeare, Arkansas Shakespeare, and Ogunquit Playhouse- Maine.
Favorite Directing experiences: MAN OF LA MANCHA, INTO THE WOODS, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, LES MISERABLES (3 productions), THE FULL MONTY, EVITA, RAGTIME, the Off-Broadway debut of CHIX 6 and 9 productions of THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES.
Select choreographic endeavors: WHITE CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS RAPPINGS at Judson Church, and several New York and national touring events for the television shows The Rachael Ray Show, Dancing with the Stars, and Dance your A** Off.
NYC: Director of numerous readings/workshops/concerts including a revised MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD (featuring Sally Struthers, Brian d’Arcy James, Natalie Toro, Joel Blum and Leah Hocking), composer Neil Berg’s GRUMPY OLD MEN (starring F. Murray Abraham and Luba Mason), and the Lincoln Center concert of composer Alan Menken. DJ choreographed the Hermann/Harmon workshop of FEMME FATALE (starring Grey’s Anatomy’s Sara Ramirez, Jan Maxwell and Christianne Noll) and LONG ROAD HOME (starring Brenda Braxton).
On new musicals, DJ has worked in various capacities with Broadway heavyweights Jerry Mitchell, Kathleen Marshall, Rob Ashford, Lynne Taylor Corbett, Susan Stroman, Rupert Holmes, Jeff Calhoun, and Tommy Tune.
He’s also directed cabaret shows for Jana Robbins, Pamela Bob and XM Radio’s Julie James (54 Below).
